Blood Pressure Entry
The upper number (heart contraction).
The lower number (heart at rest).
Determine the average arterial pressure during a single cardiac cycle to monitor organ perfusion and blood flow
The upper number (heart contraction).
The lower number (heart at rest).
< 60 mmHg: Organs may not be receiving enough blood flow.
70 - 100 mmHg: Normal range for most healthy adults.
> 100 mmHg: High pressure; may indicate hypertension or high stress.
Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) is the average pressure in your arteries. A MAP of 70 to 100 mmHg is considered necessary to maintain organ perfusion.
